It’s been about a month since I popped in to tell you about my idea for a new name for my Publication… and revealed a stark revelation, which took me an excruciatingly long time to get to! 🤦🏽♀️😆

What Will This Name Change Mean?
It means I can focus on the meaningful work that I LOVE to do most. Write children’s books, spend time engaging and connecting with other lovely talented writers and sharing their work. Publish my poetry, personal essays and maybe even FINALLY have enough time to write my adult non-fiction book! 🎉
From September 2025 Great Little Insights will become ‘The Feeling Of Life’!
I will continue to write and publish much of the same “content”, but instead of trying to do ALL of the things along side it, I will be focusing on THREE main areas…

Connection & Community
I’ve come to realise (among many other things) recently that two of my biggest core values are Connection and Community. So with this next step, I would like to ensure that these are a key priority when I’m curating the new paid membership space.
I have spent a lot of time pondering, journaling and digging deep to figure out the most meaningful and joyful ways I can incorporate these values, whilst also protecting my mental wellbeing and avoiding another burnout.
I’ve also recently completed the lovely ’s FABULOUS ‘Write for Love, Write for Money’ course, which I thoroughly recommend by the way!
Although this particular mini-course is “technically” about setting up your Substack, it offers so much more than that! True to form, Beth delivers inspiring and heart and soul opening inspiration and words of wisdom.
So, if you already have your Substack publication set up, don’t rule out having a look at this wonderful offering from Beth… Currently FREE (until the end of September) if you are a member of her SoulCircle Community - Which I also thoroughly recommend. ❤️
Getting So Much Clarity - Marinating Works!!
Quick Side Note: I have indeed used the correct spelling for ‘Marinating’ in this instance (yes I did have to google it 😆)… So, for anyone else who might be wondering…
“The correct spelling is marinating. It is the present participle of the verb "marinate," which means to soak food in a seasoned liquid to impart flavour or tenderise it. The term "marinade" refers to the liquid mixture used for marinating.” - Thank you Google! 😉
Anyway, my point is… I have been marinating my ideas, plans and goals like a badass!! This has been due to my previous tendencies to jump in head first and therefore inevitably end up pivoting when a different/better/more developed idea hits my brain.
So, this time I promised myself I wouldn’t act on anything for a good few weeks and let everything sit and marinate first, to be sure it’s right before jumping into creating. This felt very uncomfortable for my usually highly-productive way of being and I noticed my body having actual physical responses to the discomfort! Restless, fidgety… itchy even!
This really highlighted the importance of riding out the discomfort and seeing where it would take me. I distracted myself with other things… day-to-day stuff, life admin, time with the kids, etc… and then it happened… my ideas changed/developed… I had at least two pivots! 😆
I did it… I actually left something alone long enough for the changes to develop without having spent hours and hours creating something that would have evolved and changed… Yay! 🎉
The eagle eyed of you may have noticed some subtle (and some not so subtle 😉) changes happening on my publication…
New Brand Colours Chosen
After many many hours/days of deliberation, bordering on obsession, I have finally chosen the brand colours for this new little adventure. Which is honestly a relief as I was starting to drive myself mad looking at ALL the possible (slightest) variations of ‘pastel red grey’!! 🤦🏽♀️🤣

In Other News
It was my birthday on Saturday and I had the most awesome day doing exactly what I felt like doing - not trying to keep anyone else happy or “performing” to please, or to meet anyone else’s expectations around “tradition”, etc… It was FAB!! 🥳
I went to get my hair done in the morning, then popped to the pub for some brunch, then had a manicure. On my arrival back home I was greeted with flowers and a table full of presents and cards 🥰 The housework was done (nice one Mark 😉) and - due to the lack of expectations - I thought, “what do I need right now?” and it turned out to be a lie down on the bed with a book, which promptly turned into a fabulous guilt-free nap… pure bliss! ☺️
Later there was dinner, fun and games with the kids, cake and presents - including a RECORD PLAYER! The boy done good! 🎉❤️
